Making Space is a c rectrospective show of the work of Black Church Stuido Member Marie-Louise Martin .


Recently, Marie-Louise completed a building project that has brought her print and drawing studio from Ballsbridge to an extension in her home. Late last year, Marie-Louise finally moved in to it. During this building work, another construction was also underway: that of her website. Now, more than at any time before, a web-presence is an essential part of any artist's public profile.

While both these new things are very positive, they each present problems. Firstly, in her old studio, Marie-Louise had squirrelled away framed work in different rooms; now all this framed work is together in one place – all sixty pieces of it. Secondly, the website which Pillar Projects and Marie-Louise created is quite extensive. It is more than a CV/Biog/photo-gallery site and it needs to be launched in order to get it to an audience outside that narrow remit.
