Stone Lithography *
21st & 22nd Aug (Weekend Workshop, 10am - 5pm)
Tutor: Alison Pilkington Course fee: €190
Lithography offers a wide range of mark-making possibilities
and is very versatile, hands-on and open to manipulation. This
course covers drawing materials, mixing tusches, etching,
proofing and printing.

Etching - Advanced
7 Wednesdays, 25 Aug - 6th Oct (6.30 - 9.30pm) & 1 Saturday, 9th Oct (10am-
5pm)
Tutor: Colin Martin Course fee: €265
With an emphasis on development of work through colour, mixing,
theory, and plate overlays will be covered in this course. Classes
will be workshop based and concentrate on individual solutions
and directions for each student's work.

Etching - Beginners *
7 Tuesdays, 31st Aug - 12th Oct (6.30-9.30pm) & 1 Saturday, 16th
Oct (10am - 5pm)
Tutor: Debora Ando Course fee: €265
This course will cover the basic techniques of etching, from wax
ground application & drawing the image to etching the plate and
printing. Both line and aquatint methods will be covered.




STARTING IN SEPTEMBER...

Collograph *
Weekend Workshop, 4th & 5th Sept (10am - 5pm)
Tutor: Kate Betts Course fee: €190
This experimentative & intuitive process is centered on the
basis of collage, where a low relief printing plate is constructed
using ready-made surfaces, such as textured papers, veneers or
materials such as carborundum, grit, ceramic tile adhesive, PVA
glue, etc.

Etching Assisted Workshop
18th & 19th Sept (Sat & Sun, 10am - 5pm)
Tutor: Colin Martin Course fee: €200
Assisted workshop with tutor support & guidance. Suitable only
for those with a medium to advanced knowledge of etching.

Etching - Intermediate
7 Mondays, 20th Sept - 18th Oct & 1st - 8th Nov (6.30 - 9.30pm ) &
1 Saturday 13th Nov (10am - 5pm)

Printing techniques will be covered in depth and participants will
have the opportunity to print multiple layers and colours.

Screenprinting - Beginners I *

In this course you will learn how to produce screenprints from
photographic or hand drawn imagery. Experimenting with
materials, producing different effects, colour registration and
overprinting will be covered.

Etching - Greener Method

5 Wednesdays 21st Oct - 18th Nov (6.30 - 9.30pm) & 2 Saturdays, 20th &
27th Nov (10am - 5pm)
Tutor: Vincent Sheridan Course fee: €265
This method is environmentally friendlier, safer to work with and
gives very good results. It involves using a mordant based on
copper sulphate, saniflush, salt and water to etch aluminum and
zinc plates.

Lino Printing *
23rd & 24th Oct (Weekend Workshop, 10am - 5pm)
Tutor: Caroline Byrne Course fee: €190
This course introduces participants to a wide range of tools for
cutting and printing on the block. It explores the different effects
that can be achieved through hand burnishing and printing on the
relief press. Colour registration will also be covered.

Photo Etching with Riston Film *
30th & 31st Oct (Sat 10am - 6pm, Sun 10am - 5pm)
Tutor: Janine Davidson Course fee: €200
Although ideally suited for reproducing photograhs, any type of
image can be transferred directly to the surface of a sensitised
metal plate using UV light. This course will cover preparing the
plate, inking, wiping, registration and printing.
