VINCENT SHERIDAN

Vincent Sheridan studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin and the Dublin Institute of Technology. He has been working as a full-time artist since 1981. From 1989 to 1998 Sheridan lived and worked as an artist in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada. He returned to Dublin in 1999. In 2007 he graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, specialising in Video. He joined the Black Church Print Studio in 2000. Residencies include West Baffin Eskimo Printshop, Arctic Canada; St Michael's Print Shop, Newfoundland; Cill Rialaig Art Centre, Kerry and Annaghmakerrig, Tyrone Guthrie Centre. Awards include First Prize (graphics), Claremorris International Exhibition (1989); Best Graphics Award, RHA Exhibition (1992); Ernst & Young Purchase Award (1992) and Image Now Award, Best Use of Multimedia in Fine Art (2007). Sheridan has had solo and group exhibitions in Ireland and Canada.

 

KEVIN ATHERTON

Kevin Atherton was a part of a generation of artists in Britain who pioneered video and performance art in the 70’s and early 80’s. His video installation ‘In Two Minds – Past Version’ was exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art San Francisco (SFMOMA) from June – September 2009. He teaches at NCAD and lives and works in Dublin and Co. Kilkenny. He has exhibited at The Serpentine Gallery and the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London. Forthcoming exhibitions include “Of Art and Television: Changing Channels “ at the Museum of Modern Art, Vienna (MUMOK) in 2010.

 

JANINE DAVIDSON

Born in Belfast, Davidson has been a Studio member since 2001 and is currently on the Board of Directors. She was part of the Artists Panel in IMMA 2007/2008. Her work has been exhibited internationally in New York, Sweden, South Africa, France and here in Ireland. In recent years she has participated in residencies in Johannesburg and Nice where she had her first solo show. She is a founding member of the artists collective Jeco Sword whose recent exhibitions include Trapezium, at The Lab and This Must Be The Place, at the Irish Museum of Contemporary Art.

 

MARGARET O'BRIEN

Margaret O’Brien is a Lecturer in Fine Art at NCAD, Dublin and is a visiting lecturer at many universities across Ireland and the U.K. O’Brien was a Lecturer in Fine Art at Crawford College of Art, Cork from 2004-2007 and was Print Studio Coordinator at London Print Studio from 2003 -2008. O’Brien has received numerous awards for her practice mostly recently the multi-annual artists’ bursary from the Arts Council of Ireland (2008-2010). She was short listed for the AIB art prize both in 2003 and 2008. O’Brien won the Mary Farl Powers Award for Printmakers in 2003 (Arts Council). O’Brien is currently an artist-in-residence at Fire Station Artists Studios until 2011.

JOANNA SHEPARD

Prior to becoming Head of Conservation at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane in 1999, Joanna Shepard undertook several high profile projects such as the transfer of Francis Bacon's Studio from London to Dublin. A graduate of Warwick University and the Courtauld Institute, London, Joanna has a particular interest in the challenges posed by the conservation and displaying of contemporary art. Working as a conservator, art historian and project manager Joanna lectures widely on the care of museum collections and artists' media and techniques.

 

 

 

LYNDA DEVENNEY

Lynda Devenney completed a Masters in Virtual Realities from the NCAD, Dublin in 2005. She is currently a lecturer in Visual Arts Practise at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire and a member of the Blackchurch Print Studio since 2001. She has taken part in numerous exhibitions, Force Majeure, The Lab, Dublin, ‘Reading the city' Ev+a, 2009 Limerick, ‘ Defining Space', ‘More often sensed than understood' in the Original Print Gallery in Dublin, as part of the Digital Fringe in Melbourne, Australia and has exhibited in 6 x 6 for Ireland, China, Iontas 16th Small Works Exhibition, Sligo. 60 Seconds, 291 Gallery, London, Source, Original Print Gallery, Temple Bar, Dublin, RHA, 173rd Exhibition, Dublin

 

DEBORA ANDO

Debora Ando is a Brazilian artist based in Dublin since 2006. In Ireland she has worked in the Gallery of Photography, Original Print Gallery, IMMA and The Ark. She has also given print demonstrations and workshops in different venues like The Regional Print Centre in Wales and Dublin Culture Night. In 2008 Debora Ando got a 2 month residency in the prestigious CAMAC, Centre D'Art Marnay, France. She was also the recipient of Arts Council's Travel and Training Award. In 2009 her prints were selected to feature in the Northern Print Biennale alongside Louise Bourgeois, Michael Craig-Martin, Jim Dine among others.
