Tomasz Knapik
Biography
Tomasz Knapik was born in 1982 in Wroclaw, Poland where he studied printmaking and graphic design at University of Fine Arts. Knapik is both a fine art printmaker (specialising in etching / intaglio) and graphic designer.
He currently lives and works in Dublin and joined Black Church Print Studio in 2008 where he continuous his art practice. His works has been exhibited internationally in USA, UK, China, Russia, Poland and here in Ireland.
Artist's Statement
Tomasz Knapik is a visual artist working in the field of printmaking and graphic design. His creative process involves the overlapping of these closely related media. Through this process he attempts to organise and give structure to his emotional response to reality. This results in an autobiographical interpretation of relations between people and places distilled by subjective nature of memory affected by time and his imagination. He explores the past in an attempt to find the balance of all things through a journey of self-discovery and self-expression.
